Olympianity: Today's Most Popular Religion

Olympia is the name I give the land of Europe, Southwest Asia, and North Africa. In that land, people are commonly thought to participate in one of three religions: Judaism, Christianity, or Islam (in order of historical appearance).

There is, however, a fourth religion in that land. It is the oldest of the four. Ancient Greeks and Romans practiced this religion. Because they thought their gods lived on Mount Olympus, we may call their religion Olympianity.

While it is the oldest religion in Olympia, Olympianity also remains today’s most popular one. Today’s Olympians continue to devote their lives to the same gods loved by the ancient Greeks and Romans. Using their Roman names, the six most important gods in Olympianity are (1) Jupiter, god of politics; (2) Mars, god of war; (3) Vulcan, god of technology; (4) Venus, goddess of sex; (5) Pluto, god of money; and (6) Bacchus, god of consumption.

So there are four major religions in Olympia: Olympianity, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. All through the centuries, the people of each religion have influenced the beliefs and practices of the people participating in the others. Through history, however, Olympianity has proven itself to be the strongest religion of the four.

Today, the beliefs and practices of Jews, Christians, and Muslims in general are primarily Olympian. In other words, even people who identify themselves as Jewish, Christian, or Muslim all share a primary devotion to the six gods of Olympianity.

We might note that there are no atheists. In general, an atheist is understood to be a person who believes there is no god. But even people who understand themselves to be atheists, just like people who understand themselves to be Jews, Christians, or Muslims, devote themselves to the gods of Olympianity.

We might also note that no society is secular. Like individuals, societies which are not Jewish, Christian, or Muslim are Olympian.

So, in Olympia, we have four major religions: Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and Olympianity. The oldest and by far the most popular of these is Olympianity. In Olympia, almost everyone, almost all the time, loves the gods of Olympianity.
