Before Abba (our father in Heaven) could send us his son
Jesus Christ, he knew he had to get us ready. Otherwise, we might remain completely
deaf and blind to Christ’s words of truth and signs of freedom. He also knew
that the best way to prepare us was to have us repent of our sins; that is, of
our foolish devotion to false gods and our self-centered treatment of other
people. So he sent to us John the Baptist.
(1) Jesus Christ sets us on the path of freedom which is based on truth and leads through love to eternal life. (2) Yet false gods continue to enthrall us with the path of power which is based on falsehood and leads through indifference to death. (3) Even Christians have fallen under their spell. (4) But Jesus is calling us to join him as prophetic witnesses in breaking their spell beginning with his Church. (5) Use this website to strengthen your witness to Jesus for our good and his glory.

Auguste Rodin (1840-1917)
François-Auguste-René Rodin was born on November 12, 1840, in Paris into a working-class family. As a child he largely taught himself and chose to start drawing at age 10. He attended an art school as a teenager for three years.
In 1857 he wanted to start studying at the prestigious École des Beaux-Arts (School of Fine Arts) in Paris and submitted a clay sculpture with his application. He was turned down. He later applied twice more and still failed to gain entrance. He found work sculpting decorative objects and architectural details. In 1860 he created a bust of his father, his first.
